GP3 - Wheel and Pedals - advice

by Geoff Water » Mon, 10 Sep 2001 05:33:33

I have been racing GP3 with a joystick (Logitech Wingman Extreme
non-FFB) for a while, and can generally finish in the top 6 in rookie
mode (my son calls it "wimp mode") with my own setups on 2/3 or so of
the tracks (Spa being a notable exception - any advice on setups for
Spa?). I am thinking of upgrading to a wheel and pedals, and would like
advice. Cost is not an issue. I am running a Dell Dim 8100 P4 1.5ghz
with 512k memory, my video card is a 64mb GeForce 2 Ultra. What is the
best wheel for me?

Sorry if this has been asked and answered many times.

/Geoff

Gee Geoff, if "cost is not an issue" get a HyperSim :)

Perhaps I should have said, "in choosing among the popular models, relative"
cost is not an issue. But thanks for the suggestion....

If you're interested in a non-FF wheel, you can't go wrong with a TSW,
http://www.thomas-superwheel.com/  they can be fully customized to suit your
needs and budget.

There are quite a few choices when it comes to FF wheels, Microsoft,
Logitech, Act-Labs,Thrustmaster/Guillemot and onr or two that I'm sure I
left out. They all have their own good and bad points. It really comes down
to personal chioce. Try them out in the store if you can, or buy from a
store with a good return policy. Check out some of these links for some more
info on some of the popular sim controllers:
