Are there any 3D accelerated Racing Games out at present?
I just got a Monster card and am quite impressed with the action games
with it, and would like to find a racing game.

Thanks

POD has gotten some great reviews, but it is an arcade racer.  The
demo is worth a look though.   Also F1 should be in the US, by the end
of the month, but the reviews on that have been mixed.  (also an
arcade game)

Not really. The only thing close is Moto Racer (arcadish but very good
on the Monster - I've played the demo for hours).

Steer clear of POD, it sucks big time.

I didn'r like the gameplay, or even the graphics - I found the game
garish and ugly (*fastly* ugly, but ugly just the same).

Joe,

Was curious what you didn't like about POD?  I didn't buy it either,
but the graphics, and sense of speed were good.  (IMO)  Just not my
type of game.

Corking fun Moto Racer, especially over a LAN or the 'net. How are your
times on the demo tracks? I've managed 37.99 on Speed Bay and 1:28 or so on
Dirt Arena. Favourite track is Rock Forest - that's really brilliant (even
if the name doesn't make sense).

Seconded. Looks great, drives shit.

Hi John,

I only have the demo, the full version is still not available in North
America. Nor are there any signs of it becoming available soon - does
anyone have a web site or email address for the company that developed
Moto Racer? I'd like to find out what the heck's going on with this.

No news there though.

Also to any European. What would it take for you to purchase the game for me
and you send it to me and I'll fully reiemberse you plus the time for your
trouble?

to the origional poster I suggest U wait for WipeoutXL.  It is amazing
on the Playstation and should be even better on 3DFX.  WOXL is
10000000000X better and 100000000000X faster than POD.  The speed is
unbelivable on the highst speed class.

I have played a demo of Wipeout 2097 on the playstation and it is superb.

According to the Psygnosis web site they are realeasing it for the PC,

with support for certain 3D cards.

I can't see it being as good as the playstation version, with all the

different types of 3d cards available some are gonna be good and some are

gonna be bad.

we shall just have to wait and see, but this is the best racing game by

far that I have played.

Not another "futuristic" racer is it? I hope not, a total waste of
time if it is.

Thanks. Yeah, that sure is a crappy web site. 100% information-free -
not even an email address for the company! I hate that "brochure ware"
kind of site.

*** me, that's 6,000,000,000,000 frames per second! Are you sure that 6
thousand million isn't the rate you've overclocked your 3dFX to? Or perhaps
the surface temperature of the 3dFX chips..?

:)
