If you want 25fps on a P133, forget it. Upgrade the CPU. I have a Mystique
4MB, 32MB RAM, turn off asphalt/grass and minor stuff like people and get a
very playable 15-17 (approx).

A rendition based video card will give you 25+ frames on a p133.

Hey,
I am interested in finding out how Nascar2 runs on a Gateway P133 with
a STB video card and 16meg ram. A friend is going to install N2
(actually I will install it for him) and I would like an idea of where
to set the graphics to maintain 25+ frames/sec.. I run N2 on a P200mmx
w/Rendition so my graphics settings will be way off from his. Any help
is appreciated.

For what it's worth, I don't thing 15-17 fps is very playable. Especially
if you run or plan to run online. I would suggest over 20 for a minimum.

I get 30 fps with everything on with a p133.  The big difference is I
have a Reactor intense 3D card.  That video card will do wonders for
your frame rate!

OH yea I know what Nascar2 looks like on a P200mmx with a Rendition
card, thats what I have. Some of us kinda go nuts over getting a game to
run good ;).
What I was trying to find out from my original post was what graphics
settings people were running on their P133's in order to maintain
25+fps. I wanted a baseline setting so that I do not have to spend a lot
of time on his machine setting up N2, (so I can get back to my machine).
Since he has no plans to upgrade, he probably will be stuck with few
graphics on, and 8 or so cars drawn.

Even with a P133 with a Screamin' 3D I only draw 9 in front and 2 behind.
Runs great on all tracks except Martinsville, all other graphics on.  I could
draw more cars on some tracks but 9 seems to be a good number for all tracks
unless you want to constantly change this feature.....Maybe I should.
