NASCAR problems

Hi all!!

Have any of you guys out there in netland managed to get into the garage on
NASCAR while running with car and wall textures on with a 486DX2/66 with 8 meg
of RAM?
We are running digital sound with 38 opponents, 8 of which are drawn in front,
3 behind and 4 heard.
Even despite bypassing the config.sys and autoexec.bat files and creating boot
disks, we have this problem. This leaves us driving with setups so slow that
we get dusted by the computer cars, which isn't at all fun!!

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Cameron..

Weird... I use the iwcc cars95 car set and have never had a problem
getting the garage menu to come up...

Me neither. It's that wall I keep hitting.(G) I got the Taledega track
record at 199.xxx and #1 in the last qualifier. Racing #2 to Dale,
was rough, in the last race, but I got him.
The cars take alot of tweeking-with restricter plate on.
I ran the 5 lap qualifier.

Try this:

Make sure that the cars****.dat has the same name as the directory that
it is in. Example:

                cars\
                     cars94\
                            cars94.dat
                     cars95\
                            cars95.dat
                     junkcars\
                              junkcars.dat

Hope this helps!

That sounds familiar. Not only do I not have a problem getting into the
garage, it seems to be very easy to get there too. ;)

The best I've done there is around 187.something... I really need to at
least get a joystick. Playing the game with the keyboard is not easy...

: Do you have the UK version, or the USA version.  I think the above problem may be with the UK version,

It won't work unless it is like that. The car set won't load. I found that

I guess you can safely call the sim, a game when using the keyboard.(G)

I was just wondering if anyone here has had success in modem play and does the
NASCAR game offer this feature via a network IPX port like DOOM?

I've been successfully using NASCAR with modem for about 3 weeks now.  I also
have used it as a direct connect.  The only problems I've experienced is that
occassionally right after the two computers connect, the transmission will drop
out.  But I'm unsure if this is a telephone line problem, or a synch problem
with the two boxes.  Regardless a re-dial usually solves the problem.  Once a
race has begun I have never experienced a drop out.

I did encounter a setup problem, however.  My modem was on COM4, and NASCAR
only recognized COM1 and COM2 as possible selections.  So I moved my modem down
to COM2 and everything has been fine since.

I'm pretty sure the manual makes no mention of an IPX network game like Doom,
nor have I seen any options for it in the setup menus.

There is no noticable slowdown in game speed when racing under a modem game
versus a stand alone game.

Good Luck,

Barry
