modena pro wheel - opinion needed

by Fil » Tue, 10 Jul 2001 02:32:30

Hi,

I am going to buy a new wheel, and I am thinking about Thrustmaster
Modena Pro wheel. I am interested in cheap, but good, non FF wheel,
and this Modena Pro looks pretty good. I've also heard some positive
opinions about it from few ppl, but I need some more :)
I just sold the new Logi GP, so now I am looking for a better one :)
I know that the best would be the old Logi, but it's not available
here. If there are any users of that Modena wheel, than it would be
good if they can share the feelings about it with me.

thanx in advance

bye

I like the Act Labs RS wheel with shifter.  But I understand they are on
backorder for a month or so.

I use the Force RS with shifter and love it.  Can't wait to try out their
new pedals.

Hi Fil,

I have a Modena Pro and absolutely love it!!! The soft, ***ised
grip is excellent to feel, and grips well over long races in GP3!! The
pedals have excellent tension, as does the wheel...the best thing being USB
it is literally plug and play. I have had mine for about 2~3 months now and
have not looked back.

If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line,
Andrew

So far I didn't hear any negative opinion about this wheel , so I'll
probably go and buy it :) I just sold the Logitech GP wheel, which was
a real crap. Looks like the Modena Pro wheel got all I need - full
*** wheel, paddles, split axis, usb, good pedals.
BTW, how are the shift paddles working ? I've heard that in some older
Guilemont Ferrari wheels the paddles were easy to brake. And another
question - have you got any problems with the weel under GPL ? Is the
split axis working without any problems ?

Thanx for your help Andrew.

Hi Fil,

So far I haven't had any probs with the paddles, I play GP3 though
and tend not to use them, I use semi-automatic gerabox! As for GPL, I'm not
sure either...I don't own GPL(Doh!), but I am on a constant look out for
it.....

Cheers, and glad to be of asisstance. I only hope you enjoy your modena pro
as much as I enjoy mine!

Someone posted that he had N4 and GPL for sale.  I think he was going to sell
it on Ebay.  That was only about a week ago, so it may still be listed for
auction.
