I really enjoy ICR2 but since Software Etc. is selling N1 for $9.95 and
Computer City is selling N2 for $19.95, now is a great time for me to get a
stock car sim. Which is considered the better overall NASCAR sim and why? And
which is better for simulating SuperTouring races? I figure you can download
touring carsets, dashes, and sound effects and race on road courses. Thanks in
advance.

Hands down Nascar2 wins, especially now that ICR2 tracks can
be converted.  The graphics are prettier, then cars look a lot
nicer, the menus are more intuitive, and the general shift to
add-on patches etc. is towards N2.  As for the driving, the
N1 driving model is almost too sensitive, and can be especially
frustrating on road courses.  I finally got a handle on the beast,
but braking down from high speeds at a circuit like Elkhart Lake
was always a white knuckle, tail wagging the dog affair.  They
toned things down a little in N2, just enough to make it actually
more enjoyable.  The racing is closer, and you can go hard for lap
after lap without being caught out by some stupid little error.
If you really want a touring car racer, go for N2.

Get N2 for the extra 10 bucks. The graphics are better, and the N2 3DFX
patch and ran in pure dos makes it fly. There are also some great touring
carsets available, and also you can convert Indy-Car road courses to work
with it as well.

I`d go for the N2 because it has more "realistic" feel than N1 in the
physics department IMHO, and is better supported in the utility
department at the moment, with David Noonan`s converter you can convert
your ICR2 tracks to N2 and the other way around, plenty of AI
enhancements and carsets, not to talk about the TPTCC patch itself
(although that is available for N1 as well now), so if your computer can
handle it, go for N2

Not a very hard question.  Go for N2.  Papy made both of em, and N2 is much
improved, it has rendition and now 3dfx support, can be run in win95 or dos,
it has much better menus and interfaces, you can add individual cars instead
of whole sets, the racing is better, it talks to you, there are alot more
tracks, need I keep going?  There are many patches and add ons available for
both on the net, so it is a no brainer for me, go with n2

I agree That N2 has much better graphics than N2 and it is by far better than
N1, The http://wwwtheuspits.com Pits has a  great add on  for N2 Touring cars
and there plenty of files to enhance it even more. But take into consideration
the speed of your computer. I use a P90 and with N2 I need to have almost all
the graphics turned off to run a full field of cars and even still my frame
rate is kinda slow.But with the release of th N1 Touring cars from the pits and

can still enjoy great touring car racing with N1 also and maybe see some more
scenery if your on a slower computer, and as for the looks of the cars check
out the screen shots of the N1 touring cars and see just how good they look. If
you have a fast computer P166 or better definatly go with N2 and the pits
touring car championship. One last note the pits also has converters to convert
ICR2 to N1, So the guy who cant afford a fast puter can still have fun.
