GP2: Modem Session Report

Mad Mikey and I ran for 2 hours and 34 minutes tonite.
We ran at 19200, 1 bar of detail on, in SVGA.
It ran great. Only sag of any kind is when Mad Mikey was
in the dirt, which was OFTEN...hehehe
He thinks this is a DUNE BUGGY simulation, and he had the
nerve to complain about the traction in the dirt...(G).

I would say that this thing is ROCK SOLID over the modem,
and, earlier today (two 4 hour sessions) we ran it over
direct connect at 57600 and it was better than ROCK SOLID.
It was nearly stand alone speed on direct connect.

In the modem session we had a 133 and a 200 connected.
In the direct session we had a 133 and a 200 connected.

You guys are going to have a great time with this over
the modem. Clean connects, very good frame rate in SVGA,
no lag or sag at ALL caused by the CC drivers. Only when
one of the "live" drivers is in the dirt is there any
lag at all.

GREAT SIM...get it as soon as you can.

BTW, I would mention that with 1 bar of detail ON, I
think that the detail is at least as good as NASCAR
and INDYCAR II, and that is when they are on FULL detail.
That is my honest view. The graphics are very rich and
deep in this GP2 sim. The depth of field is also a big
plus especially when compared to NASCAR and INDYCAR II.
You can see down the track really well. There is no***
curve out in space as is often the case in the other two.
The image is clean, rich, detailed and deep.
I do not think that anyone is going to have any legitimate
complaints about lowering detail for modem sessions...it
is simply stunning even at that detail level.

On Direct Connect I found that we did NOT have to lower
the detail at all to get competitive quality frame rates.
