Need Help!: Actlabs Force RS delay in NFS:HS

by hoerz.. » Tue, 13 Jul 1999 04:00:00

Hi there,

I seem to have a little problem in Need for Speed High Stakes:

When I turn my wheel (Actlabs Force RS - serial), there is a tiny delay
before the car actually turns. Not a lot but enough to make driving
difficult. What's worse, it seems to to the same thing in other games...

When I connect a joystick (Gravis Xterminator - gameport) the delay
disappears. I've spent some time on verifying this, there is definately
no delay with the joystick.

Both controllers where running in NFS at 1152x864 32bit color, max
graphics settings.

Is this standard behavior for the wheel? Should I return the wheel? Is
there any fix for it?

My setup:

Abit BX6 2.02
PIII running on 580MHz
128MB RAM
CL TNT2 on 180/220 (CL drivers 2.04)
Diamond MX300 with the latest reference drivers from Aureal (2035?)
Gravis Xterminator (gameport, controller ID2)
Actlabs Force RS (COM1, controller ID1)

Thanks in advance!

Stefan
