on the box it says win95/98 no montion of NT, although i think it would
work.  go get the "test version" and see.

PS i in no way aprove of warez but this seems like a good reason for one to
get it.

For what it's worth, the demo did not work for me on NT.

I gave it a try once I got it, and no go.
I thought because it was glide I stood a chance, but apparently GPL uses
DirectX for other things. Which makes sense.

The game would start, then completely hang NT, couldn't even get to the task
manager.
I had to power off to get going again.

I think the only DirectX it "needs" to use is the soundcard portion.  If
you set the controller method to "generic" vs. Direct Input, the program
polls the game controller directly (actually I think they have the names
mixed up -- generic should mean "win95 sucky" and direct input should
mean "clean & effecient Papyrus").

even with the generic input I get the same behavior.
I thought it might be the sound, or maybe even the menus, which may be done
using directX, not necessarily glide (of course that is only speculation)

Has anyone tried running it on NT5 beta with DirectX installed?  Seems
like this might work.  I really need to get NT set up on my
Workstation, but don't have enough space for dual boot.

The message.....

The reason I asked if GPL would run on NT was for the multi-cpu
support.

I doubt it would buy you much.  GPL would run on one CPU, and the
OS on the other.  SMP doesn't buy you much when running a single
monolithic application, unless that application has been split into
roughly symmetrical threads.  Besides, you can peg GPL's frame rate
at the max 36 with a single $145 Celeron 300a.

Also, I don't think there are 3Dfx or Rendition drivers for NT5
yet.
