Native USB RS Shifter Support for GTR2002

by Dave Coo » Sat, 30 Nov 2002 04:58:04

For those of you who want to use your RS Shifter in the forthcoming GTR2002, Tom
Grandgent has released a beta of the ALShift utility with native support.  -
Dave

Here is a quote from the Act-Labs forum:

"Hi everyone! I've been working on the shifter utility and have released a beta
version with preliminary support for F1 2002 and NFS:HP2. You can download it
here:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Please try it with F1 2002 and NFS:HP2 if you have these games, and (here's the
important part!) let me know if it works or doesn't work. If it doesn't work,

reply to this post. Also feel free to let me know what other games you have that
you want support for."

I'll check the A-L forum for more info, but poking around the .PLR
file in
F12k2 (in quest of just such support) I saw an option like "RS shifter
support".  Is this only for people with the non-USB shifter, or does
this option do nothing?  I don't have access to my game PC to check.
I've got the normal RS shifter as patr of my Force RS wheel, and was
hoping that support was already there.

Hmmm.  Not sure about that.  Might be worth it to post that question on the
Act-Labs board.

This option was in F1 2001 as well.  It doesn't seem like it does
anything.  Who knows it might in F1 2003.  But seeing how the RS
Shifter is being discontinued, they may just make it support the GPL
shifter or a generic one instead.
