F1RS 3D Patch & Maxi Sound 64 PNP

I have a Maxi Sound 64 PNP.

Surround sound works with the bundled Sound Impression Software & Maxi FX -
Everything appears to be Ok.

However, with F1RS patched with sound3d I cannot get any output from the
surround sound port.

Anybody else experienced this - the Guillemot site includes the sound3d
patch - advertising it as a patch to allow 4 speakers to be used on a Maxi
64 PNP - so I guess it should work!

Any suggestions would be most appreciated
