Them. By an order of magnitude.
Changing paint jobs, sounds and driver rosters is no big deal.
Making a program that lets you edit parameters in the game is a step
up, but still doesn't compare.

If the add-on guys *were* that good, we might have the NASCAR sim with
GPL engine that people are quacking about.
There may be some that can do it, but if they're that good, they're
probably going to be programming for money.

Hmmm... aren't "we" hampered by having to reverse engineer the code?

>Hmmm... aren't "we" hampered by having to reverse engineer the code?

"We" are advancing simulations, should be no problem. Heck, why bother
reverse engineering? Just write new code.
Sort of re-enforces my argument. =8^P

Personally, I can't write a BASIC program, let alone one in C+++. Even
if I could, I wouldn't be so pretentious to think I'm a better
programmer because I could write some 5k editing program.

I think its probably a lot easier to add something pretty small to a program
than create it from scratch yourself

what i think about this whole deal is....linux was made by a bunch of
programmers and computer enthusiasts...couldnt the same be said for a sim??????

Want a simple or complex answer?

Simple answer is: No, not unless you get someone of the knowledge level of
Randy Cassidy to head/lead it.  But why would someone do that when he can
write the same thing and get paid for it? :)

And btw, yes Linux is open-source which has allowed a few people to
contribute to it, but to say it was written by a "bunch of programmers and
computer enthusiasts" is pretty far from the actual truth of the matter.

sim??????
