You need VLB or PCI to make the frame rate better. It actually isn't
the cpu speed that is essential, it the ability of the cpu to move the
graphics thru the video card. A 16-bit video card is useless,
no matter the speed of the cpu. VLB is better, but PCI is probably the
best speed you can muster. I have 2 machines, an older Packard bell
P60 with VLB Mach 32 inboard. I now have a generic P133 with PCI
Diamond 64 stealth. Both have 16M of ram, and all but the grass
and asphalt texture turned on in SVGA. And the P60 is just noticable
with a large pack of cars in front of me.I usually have 14 front /
4 rear cars turned on. The p133 has no noticable slowup, even at
Sears Point or Bristol. Hope this helps
