Recently I got a new PC and put the older one aside
for refurbishing. Over the weekend I installed Win 95B
(OSR2) on the old machine (P200, non-mmx, Intergraphics
3d100, Pure 3d1, 64 MB Ram, SB 32) and re-installed N2.
With OSR2 I don't need dmadiag to run in rendition mode
as was required with Win 95A. However, the same mouse
drivers that I used to use (and still use on the new
pc) no longer work. I run the game in DOS mode and had
been using Microsoft Mouse (v9.02). Again, it works
fine on the new pc (also OSR2), worked on the original
setup of the old pc, but doesn't work right with the new
setup on the P200. I get mouse trails all over the screen.
I can do what I need, and they go away when I leave each
menu screen but it looks awful. I haven't set the mouse
software to allow trails so I'm not sure why they are
there.
The other option is to upgrade to the 3DFX version of
N2, but I prefer the rendition version and would rather
fix the mouse bug first. Anyone have a similar problem,
or know of a fix?
