    Even though I'm a daily reader of r.a.s, I have yet to see anyone
mention experiencing a flickering of the cursor or lockups associated with
later versions of drivers for Voodoo 2 cards when running GPL. I've had
this problem with drivers from both Diamond (my original V2) and Metabyte
(a Wicked 3DV2 to sli with the first). With the Diamond, reverting to the
203 drivers solved the problem. Is it an incompatibility with Glide 2.54
(since the earlier drivers used 2.53)? Is there a workaround that would let
me use 2.53 for GPL and 2.54 for other games?

I've got the same problem (using Diamond drivers). Not aware of any
solution unfortunately. =(

Brian, you must have just started reading this newsgroup.  This question
is asked and answered about 10 times a day!

That's exactly the problem and the workaround is to put the 2.53
glide2x.dll in your GPL directory.

Download the following file and unzip it into your GPL main directory
(folder) and you will 2.53 Glide for GPL and 2.54 (or whatever for all
other applications.

    Is the 3dfx properties set right?  eg;  Go to the desk top and right
click..  Go to properties.. go to (3dfx or voodoo3) settings..  Go to
advanced..  uncheck the trylinier<sp?> stuff.  the only 3dfx/glide option you
may or may not need would be the Limit something to 2 meg.

    not sure this is your problem but it's worth a shot.

I have a Metabyte Wicked3D SLI setup.  I need to turn triple color
buffering off or else I get flickering in GPL
