VQuake 1.06 on Rendition's Web Page

The 1.06 beta of the Rendition Enhanced VQuake.exe has been placed on
Rendition's webpage.  It doesn't really improve framerates, but it does
make it much more playable.  Gone are the annoying slowdowns that I
experienced of no reason when walking through doors or around corners (Mike
Boich said it was probably due to textures being loaded).  Anyway, download
it from: http://www.racesimcentral.net/

It's 526k, and is not compressed.  The filename is rrvq106b.exe.  I just
renamed it vquake.exe and replaced the one in my Quake directory.

Yes I know this has nothing to do with R.A.S so flame away if you so
choose.

Eric,
Just a quick comment on VQUAKE. I find it to be much smoother with
Rendition chip and objects stand out much 3D wise. I assume we are
all testing the full capabilities of the new REACTOR board with the
different games.

Keep us informed on new drivers. I read all your messages.

Hehe... my own loyal following =)

The newest drivers/BIOS should be out by the end of next week and they will
solve some problems.  Of course the color cursor bug has been fixed, but
other problems associated with APM and Energy Star monitors have also been
addressed.  The new Windows drivers are also faster, but that's about all I
can tell you.
