F1 2000: patch 1.06 bug

by Erwan Gourvene » Sun, 18 Jun 2000 04:00:00

Hi,
Since i try an option of the 1.06 patch, the "auto-load setup",
i have a problem.
When i start a race, the default set up is very bad (hard tyre
and full of fuel for qualifs) so i want to load an other setup but.......
all my previous setups are gone. The screen selection is empty.

Of course, i try to un-select the "auto-load setup" option but
it still doesn't work.

If someone can help me, it would be great.
Thanks.

This one has been discussed before on several occasions, and I don't think
there was a consensus on how to solve the problem.
In my case, it was because I had some file in setups that had a very long
name downloaded from somewhere, Montreal or Canada in the name I think. I
removed all the files from setup and gradually replaced them until they
disappeared from the menu again.  In that way I could identfy which was the
bogus file. After that I've had no problems!
It may not be the same for you however.

The 1.06 patch uses a different directory for each different car you drive to
store the setups.

You have to copy all the setups you want to use from the
save/"yourplayer"/Settings folder to the folders you find underneath.
Whenever you change to a new car unfortunately you have to do this again.

I hope this helps, it did it for me :-)

Only if you select that option it does.  That is not the problem that Erwan
is talking about.  I (and others have exerienced the problem, but see my
earlier post.

Thanks to all of you for answer to me.
But i decide to reinstall the game and, this time, i don't click
in the "autoload" setup, so now, it works well.
