CPR and joysticks?

by RLBE » Wed, 05 Nov 1997 04:00:00

I have been trying to read every post on the new CPR and steering problems....,
If I missed this I am sorry, but:
I am using a Microsoft SideWinder 3D Pro joystick, and having a hard time
controling the car down the straights. I have played with the steering help,
as well as the "stay on track" and "stay on line" options. The "stay on"
options seem to help, but, with them off, I cant stay on the track! It would
seem to me that Microsoft would like to have their sim playable with their own
hardware! Any suggestions? If there is a trick, I would appreciate knowing it.
If not, I would suggest that the sim needs some modification before release.

Just my $.02 worth!

Oh, THANKS for the Demo! I'd love to love your sim!

CPR and joysticks?

I use the Sidewinder 3D pro and have no problem keeping it on the track. A
couple of things to check:
1) Look at the Controls dialog & try adjusting the sliders. Be sure you
have your controller configured as Joystick. The linear steering slider can
be used to give you a wider dead zone around the center of the stick which
can help.
2) Choose the sample garage setup for the track your racing - it has better
settings than the garage defaults.

Hope this helps.
