MS Precision Racing wheel (non FF) trouble

by Four furry fiend » Sun, 16 Feb 2003 01:02:07

Hi,

Does anyone have suggestions on how to tighten the steering column of a
MS Precision Racing wheel (non FF)?  Mine is about 2 1/2 years old, and is
starting to develop a little play in it...steering wheel rocks a few
millimeters side to side relative to the main housing.  I've had great luck
with it so far, kind of surprised that it's lasted this long....  I just
need it to last another month or so,until I buy a TSW2.  Thanks in advance.

I used to have this wheel, and I had the same problem... couldn't fix
it though, seems that the non-ball bearing of the steering column just
wears out :/

That's what I was thinking, too.  Not worth the cost or hassle of trying to
get it fixed.  Too bad, I was hoping to sell it when I get a new wheel.  I
guess that's why the MS wheels are disposable! ;)

Hehe =)

BTW, I still regret that I sold my MS set. I really dislike the Momo
Force pedals, and I realised too late that I could've used the MS
pedals with the Momo wheel...

They are all pretty much disposable.

The MS wheels hold up longer and better than most.

Are people actually wiring these in, or are they just tucking the MS Wheel
under the desk somewhere?

Actually there is an adapter for hooking the MS pedals to the Momo:

Jussi,

Would you want to buy my Precision Racing Wheel?  It's in good
condition, except for the slight play in the steering wheel.  You could
always use it as a spare wheel.  I'd sell it to you for $30...including all
of the original hardware, manual, and CD.  Let me know.

Thanks for the offer, but the shipping costs (to Finland) would
probably be another $30...
