Yes, it is definately a great sim...and game, depending on which mode
you choose.  The cars are very well done, somewhat similar to those of
IndyCar Racing II for the PC.  The tracks are awesome, especially
Homestead, California, Long Beach (extremely good - my favorite), and
Cleveland.  I highly recommend this one.  Sony's domination of the
sports games continues with this one.  One thing though: although it has
a great intro with awesome sound, the engine sound while driving is a
bit whiny...you quickly get over it, though...trust me.

I checked the manual for the game, and honestly could not find a bit of
analog controller instructions.  This could turn out a big
disappointment for you wheel/joystick owners.  It doesn't matter to me,
though, since I only have the digital gamepad.

A great job by Sony, though.

Also, anybody know if you can calibrate your analog input device in
it, or is it like Andretti Racing?

Wow!

Thanks so much for checking. I still need to know for sure, because it
is on the edge for me financially at the moment, me "entertainment"
budget and all ;)

You see, Andretti racing didn't have calibration, and I had to return
it. NASCAR and F1, OTOH, did have calibration- thank god for that.

Well, I am very e***d about it. The images on the box looked...
amazing. It was so refreshing to see recognizable cars... I don't know
what it is about F1 cars- their identities never seem to sink in for
me!

Yes Sony's CART World Series supports all the various Sony analog controllers
including the new dual analog pad.  It also lets you use the analog pad (left)
for steering and (right) for gas/brake, or you can use the digital buttons on
the right for gas brake (you can even switch whenever you want..they're both
 enabled).

It supports the Mad Catz wheel , NeGcon and other analog controllers as well.

Hope this helps.

Yes, you can calibrate an analog wheel or pad.

And yes, it is too bad the great car sound didn't carry over from the
intro to the the game, but it IS a lot of fun.  Especially with a wheel.

I traded with a co-worker of mine.  He has my NASCAR '98 for the time
being.  CART is OK.  The audio is awesome on the surround sound.  I went
out and bought the Sony analog controller ($30) and it boosted my times.
I'll give CART a solid 8 out of 10.
