Act Labs FF wheel vs LWFF

I have reached a point in mine life where a have to make a difficult
decision.
Do I buy a Act Labs FF wheel or a Logitech wingman fomula force.
How can help me with the the pros and cons of both wheels.
For instance;
What about the FF of the wheels? What about the pedal's?
What about the software (drivers)? etc.

Please help in making the right decision.
thanks,
Remco

I just got a Act Labs today...and I hate it.  I doubt that it has
anything whatsoever to do with the fact that it's the Act Labs wheel,
I think I just hate force feedback.  I have tried 3 different sims so
far and all 3 are MUCH harder to control.  The force effects sometimes
feel kinda bogus too at times.
In F1 2000 it is almost impossible to control the car and the wheel is
not centered.  Since there is no centering calibration I am just stuck
with that I guess.  No adjustment of deadzone or sensitivity in F12K
made the car nowhere near controllable enough to be competitive.
When traveling over smooth roads and no "forces" in effect the
steering is just way too stiff to make driving any fun.

I imagine it's just me, but it's back to my TM Digital and this thing
goes back as soon as I get the RA.

Also got the gear shift which I have not hooked up...and won't now I
guess.

I've got 3 FF wheels. The Act Labs is a better wheel than the LWFF. If you
spend the extra money on the RS Shifter you won't regret it. Act Labs tech
support is the best there is. Logitech doesn't even stock normal parts like
pots or springs, so when the warranty is over you're out of luck if
something wears out. I will take about 60 hours or more for the wheel to
break-in and  loosen up.

The Force RS is a little stiff at first, and you have to give yourself time
to get accustomed to FF. I wasn't impressed immediately either. After you
get the hang of it and figure out how to make the FF adjustments, it's
really hard to go without it. If the wheel centers normally, it should
center in F1 2000. It also has a large diameter wheel and 270 turning arc.
Together they take a little time to get used to. If you don't want to get
pulled into the infield when you hit a curb, turn down the FF strength. It
helps.

Hello,

I had the Logi wheel first and then bought the ACT LABS one.  The only
thing I like more about the Logi wheel is the red wheel.  In terms of
use, the ACT LABS one is better in every way.
Regardless of what others say, the Logi wheel has much weaker force
effects.  I know I'll get flamed by Logi owners for this, but you
don't notice the huge difference until you've tried both

I tried both. I didn't like the ACT labs wheel at all - notchy (which
people says goes away eventually) and stiff (didn't seem to get the
subtleties that the LWFF brought out). I didn't even like the pedals on
the ACT (they were sticky - but filing would fix it).

I don't like the Logitech FF pedals and I use the CH pedals (which I
already owned anyway).

ALso my logitech doens't quite center properly (I have to calbirate it
manually) but my friends one is fine.

The logitech is more expensive but I think it is worth it.

This works fine for GPL and NFS:PU. Force feedback in previous NFS's was
silly (try the rain in High stakes or hot pursuit to see real silly
force feedback). SCGT was OK but not great. F1RS was total crap.

GPL is definitely the best by far.

From my perspective ACT is cheaper than Logitech (at least over here),
Logitech is a better wheel and worth the extra cash (but I don't use the
pedals - I use CH pedals).
