N4 has a steep learning curve, and requires commitment from everyone to get
proficient with it , especially in the mulitplayer environment. You'll never
see this type of commitment from poickup racers,  but league races should
only get better as time goes by.

Yes that is true.  The fact that racing is difficult (thus N4 is difficult
because it is realistic) makes for one of the reason why I write that
drivers often abuse the system.  They are selfish, impatient and they want
instant results on track.

I don't find Nascar cars as interesting to drive, and I prefer the
older tracks as well.

For me Bristol is one of the more entertaining NASCAR circuits.  Maybe
because cornering skill is more critical than somewhere like Daytona or
Talladega.

Don't get me wrong GPL is still by far my favourite sim, I do like a bit of
NASCAR now and again though and I do prefer the shorter ovals over the super
speedways.  One thing I really enjoyed about NR1999 was the whole bunch of
shorter than half mile tracks that came with it.

I hope we see a truck expansion for N4 with a few more short tracks.

You meant to say released for Viper...but I will let it slide..I wish Noonan
or some other GPL track designer (Flack?) would go look at Viper and try to
develop some software for making tracks...That would revive that game VERY
fast.  I love the driving model...oh well.  Ill stick with GPL until WSC.

Jesse

Perhaps those drivers should try arcade mode for a while.

After reading all the posts, it sounds like my old theory still holds true.

For the most part, a bunch of old guys (in racing game years) simply prefer
the old cars and tracks over the new ones (attitudes towards current F1 by
many of those same people back this up).

Wow you want a cookie for that?  So ***y what if that's the case (and it
is).
