GP3&F12000 gfrx compared - see for yourself!!!

I got sick and tired off all those people bashing GP3 grfx!!!
I heard things like; worst 3d accelerated game ever,
looks shit, not up to date, would be good 3 years ago....!!!

So I decided to take another good look myself and make some screenshots
of different spots and combined them into a JPG file for all of you to
see at alt.binaries.simulators.auto!!!

Both games ran in 1024x700 (something) and with all details on.
Now where the hell does GP3 look crap, huh???
Do me (and all other GP3-fans) a brake, bye yourself a decent gfrx-card
and a decent computer, or just shut up!!!

Regards,

Roger

Do you wanna race or count pixels on your screen ???
It is a computer sim, not real life!!!
And the overall look is way better than F1-2000, pixelation or not!!!

Roger

I don't think that comparing F1 2000 and GP3's graphics is really the issue.
You need to compare GP3's graphics with all the other "new" games out there
that have much better eye candy (unreal tournament/Qauke 3 for a start). GP3
is just plain out of date graphics wise. I must say it does look good and I
love it but it should look and run better. It's just plain lazy programing
just like F1 2000.

Uh actually you should compare it to other F1 games, this being cuz there is
no Monaco map for Quake 3 or Unreal Tourny....yet.

Ohyeah sure, compare it too Quake??? come on boys get a life!!!
Quake for ones has now physics-engine too handle also, it's just a plain dumb
shoot out with nice eye-candy, why the hell should we compare GP3 with that???
As for lazy programming; GP3 runs silky smooth on my PIII-500-Voodoo3 machine,
which can't be said of F12000, which even has the worst graphics of the two.

Roger

Well, it might mean that other people get deterred by those posts and
don't buy the game. Then when it's time for Hasbro to decide if they'll
release a patch, they might not because of the low number of copies
sold. That's where the enthousiasts will suffer. GP3 is a nice game
and those whiners just might have to upgrade their graphics cards or
get their systems running properly (I have seen some screenshots
that *really* look bad and look *nothing* like what my systems
produces in GP3).

Dennis.

But the fact remains - some people are going to love a game, and some are going
to hate it.  Except for something like SoS1937<g>, you won't get everyone to
agree.  My point is you won't change anyone's mind - it's like trying to argue
religion, or something...

it's just plain lies, it's not the truth, so I just put up these comparences
between GP3 and F1-20000 to show just how good the grfx look like.
And maybe some of those GP3 bashers, realise that it's probably there system-setup
that makes it look bad and pixelated.
On my PIII-500 with Voodoo 3 Card (hardly the fastest around) it runs silky
smooth, unlike any sim I ran before, and believe, I'm a racing nut, I got them all
;-))

So what's your framerate, and what graphics did you have to sacrifice to get
there?  Some people can do without trees, walls, and grandstands(for example).
Others want that for a total 'immersion', if you will, and aren't willing to
give that up.  For them, that would ruin the game...

...So how is it that people with Athlon 700+ systems are struggling to get 20
fps?  Are the AMD chips THAT bad?
