Anyone have a D-Link DI-604 router working with NASCAR 2003?

Anyone have a D-Link DI-604 router working with NASCAR 2003?

I just bought a D-Link DI-604 router this weekend and it's working great
with everything except NASCAR 2003 and GPL/WinVROC.  I get a "123:error
detected on network device" stream of messages when I try to connect to a
race.  I've even put my racing computer in the "DMZ", and get the same
message!

Can the Sierra server not see what it's looking for through the router even
with the PC in the DMZ (where the PC is fully exposed to the internet)?

I've gone in and tried to open ports as specified in the readme file, but
that doesn't get it either.  It's a little bit confusing the way they do
this. Papyrus calls the ports 32766 for the net_server_port, 32767 for ping
port. I've gone in under "virtual servers" and created a profile for NR
2003, in which I've made 32766 the "trigger port" (new one on me) and 32767
the "public port".

FWIW, GTR 2002 allows me to join races.  There's got a to be a simple
setting I'm overlooking here where Papyrus race sims are concerned.

I'd appreciate any help or hints you guys may have... thanks!

Kronos, that would be fantastic.  I'd like to know if you have to do
anything special to make it work.  I dont think they've changed anything in
this regard for 2003.

Thanks dude!

Did you make sure and do the "find network address a different way" or
whatever that Papy/sierra kludge is for computers behind routers?  I forget
the exact wordking.  It should be somewhere in the network adapter config
stuff in the game.  I had to do it for N2002 and GPL, so i'm assuming you
gotta do the same in N2003.

hth,
jeff

Yeah J, I did just that.  I actually changed to "find serial ports" exited
back to main menu, and then came back to multiplayer.  I then showed serial
port data.  Then I chose "find a different way", went back to main and then
re-entered.  It didn't make any difference.

Papy calls the 2 ports concerned "net_server_port" and "ping" ports, with
the latter getting a 32767 assignment.  I'm not sure how these translate to
D-Link's "trigger" and "public" ports that I'm being asked to complete while
setting up a "special application in the advanced menu.  I've worked lots of
number combos trying to unlock this mystery, but it's still no dice.

It's funny, I get the race list and ping times swifter than before the
router purchase (I was using an ethernet hub before), but I get the same
message everytime, no matter whose server I try to connect to.  123:error
detected on network device.  I'll get about 7 or 8 of them in a string until
it stops.
