Living very close of the track (5 minutes walking), and knowing some of
the organizers of the F1 Gp of Canada, all I can say is that they
removed the chicane because of the chances of a major crash after the
last "turn" of the chicane. BTW, this chicane wasn't the one with the
tires. It was the same as in Gp2. The track owner thought that a car
could maybe be able to jump over the track and get into the Olympic
lake, like in Monaco. This was part of the "after-senna's death"
security increa***t in F1.
