I was reading this months RACER and they had a little piece about the R8
testing at Magny-Cours and the with the GP there this week I was wondering
what the comparative times were? I realize that the R8 might have been
testing different stuff and set ups but what was the lap time in a
competitive run?

Just curious?

no way to know since the times are never made public. you could always
download the LeMans 2001 mod for F1 2001 and do a few laps in the R8!!!! Let
us know what you come up with!

The F1 pole was 1:11.985, courtesy of JPM.

The pole time set by a LMP900 car in FIA Sportscar Championship at
Magny-Cours was 1:27.715. It was set by Jan Lammers with a Dome S101,
the same car and driver which took 5th starting position at LeMans
this year.

They were just under 3 seconds behind the R8's at LeMans, so the R8's
maybe, just maybe, could do 1:26's at Magny-Cours.

For comparison, the F3000 times spanned from the pole of 1:25.394 down
to mid-1:28.
