God I can't wait.... (but I'm gonna have to )

I have a good friend who works for a "well known" Computer Games Company
here in the UK, he has been telling me 28th June for nearly 2 months
now... so perhaps we can really start to believe it will be here!
However I am not gonna hold my breath!

The great thing is though, that in f1gp 1 I absoutely love The French GP
Circuit at Magny Cours (I know in real life few drivers do, they reckon
its a bit of a Micky Mouse Circuit). The point being that the weekend
after the game is released is the French GP.. so I just can't wait to
fly round Magny Cours on my new P166!!!!! 4 MB Matrox PC!!!

Julian.

PS What are other peoples favourite circuits in F1GP1? (Not real life)

Hiya m8

I love all the tracks inc Magny Cours.  But my favourites are Hungary,
Imola, Adelaide, Suzuka and Silverstone.  Oh don't forget Monaco in the
WET!!!

For hotlapping, it's GOT to be Monaco. There is nothing quite as
satisfying (in sim-racing terms!!) as completing a fast lap around
Monaco (no steering assistance of course). For racing, probably Spa or
Suzuka get my vote.

In GP2 though, Aida is great fun, a lovely little twist leading uphill
onto the backstraight. I think it'll be popular too.

Cheers!
John

Magny Cours was probably my favourite circuit also - I spent
most of my time practising on it. It is quite strange because,
as you say, the real life drivers don't like it. Other
favouries are Brazil and Mexico (Mexico WAS probably my favourite
real F1 circuit). Most hated circuit = Silverstone - that's
pretty much in line with all comments from real F1 drivers,
particularly the non-British ones who can say what they
really think about it. Depending on whether they have
decided to implement the changes (eg Abbey curve) made at
Silverstone for the 1994 race, F1GP2's Silverstone may
be even worse than in F1GP!

Late June, or early July, seems like a really safe bet.

Many real drivers actually like Magny Cours. And it is not Mickey Mouse
at all. But Eddie Irvine for instance is appalled by the night life
there. :)

Me: Spa Francorchamps (real and imagined)

It's been a while since I played it, but Spa - definitely, Portugal - I think.

I'm partial to a run around Monza (quick race) if I want fast racing
action, Silverstone if I want a real challenge (the computer seems to
be better there than anywhere else) or Imola if I'm feeling in the
mood for fast chicane slicing.

Definitely Portugal, possibly followed by Italy except for that that
last corner onto the main straight. I can't get fast enough around
there using keyboard controls.

I just like the rhythm of the Portugese track, it's got good passing
areas (hardly a problem in F1GP without serious tweaking to make the
computer drivers better, but even so...) and it has a nice range of
corners.

I'm waiting for F1GP2 pretty eagerly - but I'm interested in
Psygnosis's F1 for the Sony Playstation too. I might wait for both to
come out and, after playtesting, decide whether to buy a Playstation
or spend the money on upgrading my PC. :-)
