OK N2 guru... I need to know if I need to write anything in the drivers
info about skill???  I (the player) do or don't have to set my own skill
or is it standard for everybody or nothing is needed and the game will set
it up automaticaly???

Second... is it me or is there less traction and the car harder to handle
in N2 compared to N1???  I use to have no problem winning at the Glen in
N1 and now in N2 I got trouble taking turn 1 without rearanging my front end.

Third... where can I find the new patches for N2???

Fourth... can you make a new track record (own not game) while racing or is
it just in qualifying????

Fifth... I race with opponent at 100% I usually qualify mid pack and can
usually make up a few positions... best I ran was 7th in a race...
anybody out there won with opponent either at 100 or 101???

The skill ratings are for AI drivers only. Your own performance is
determined by your skill directly... :-)

We changed the Glen track to more closely match the real thing. I had
trouble with T1 there in N1, and have trouble with T1 in N2. The
problem is you can carry so much speed down the main straight and down
that hill, that you need to get into the brakes really early (I tend
to start getting into the brakes at the concrete to Armco transition
on my right...)

There aren't any released yet (unless you count the TEN "don't***
up my IE" patch). When they are released, they will be available
directly from Sierra's web and/or ftp site, and they will be announced
(and no doubt discussed :-) ) here.

I believe you can do it anytime. You certainly can do it while racing.

The driving model, in my opinion, is much improved in the new sim.
Subtle suspension adjustments make a more pronounced difference in car
handling.  One thing that is much more sensitive is steering lock.  If
you run high amounts of wheel lock and find handling twitchy, reduce it
to be smoother.

No patch is available yet.

Yes, the racing laps can be, and often are, recorded as lap records.

Yes.  At Michigan at 101%.  Try to run there if you need an ego boost.
Setup your car to run low into turn 3 to pass the AI cars everytime.
Good luck!

The skill level setting has no effect on the player controlled cars, only
on AI cars.

Most people feel that N2 is easier to drive. Be aware that Watkins Glen is
remodeled and you really do have to find a good line through T1 to make it
one piece. Try braking a little sooner until you are comfortable with the
line. The AI are pretty good at sneaking by on the inside, so keep your
eyes peeled, because they will try to outbrake you into T1.

http://www. sierra.com  - I believe there is a patch to fix the Explorer
install problem, but they have not released any patches affecting game play
yet.

Anytime, practice, qualifying or during a race.

I have won at both 100% and 101%, but not at all the tracks. Yet.

Track records are valid in any session.  Yes, I've won some races with
opponents strength set to 100%, though none full-length.  I've tried
some full length races, but my best finish there so far is a third at
Michigan.

Ok heres another monkey wrench to throw into the deal.  I noticed
during my championship season that I have different records at the same
track for the different races in the season.
IE:  First race of the season at Bristol I've got a 125.344 speed record
for the track.  BUT in the Goody's (night) race later in the season I've
got a track record of 126.683.
Shouldn't a track record be a track record no matter which race it is?
Haven't checked out the other tracks that have multiple races yet but
will...

You'll probably find the same thing for Richmond and C***te.  The 3
races that are night have their own directory and therefore their own
records.txt file.  Real life, yes track record is a track record but
think of it as a race record.  The race record at Bristol(day) is
125.344 and the race rec at Bristol (night)is 126.683.  But the track
rec is the 126. If it bothers you that much just copy your best
time/speed to the other track directory.

All tracks with night races have separate directories and thus have
different Records.txt files.  I agree that the track record should be
the same for both events.  But, I guess this was just a little thing
that didn't get the attention before the release.

Just edit the Records.txt file at whatever track has the higher record.
Put in values that match the faster record set in the other event.
