Peter do you have a repaly of oone of your 8minute ring laps? If
so would you send it or maybe I could dnload it somwhere? Tia..
Any & all help appreciated :-) Thom_j.

| Hoo ***y Ray!!  Didn't take that long after all.  8:18.80, only .2
| better, but who cares?  I don't. :)
|
| All managed from end of long straight near end of lap.  Was probably
| about a second down on previous best and then made it all up from there.
| Yes!!

Thanks for the advice Thom :)

Hmm... I don't know whether I want to mess with setups yet.  I've kinda got
used to the feel of the default setups.

Every time i've tried somone else's setups i've found them a total
undriveable nightmare.  Even Alison Hines x-file setups, which are supposed
to be for novice drivers, they just wobble from side to side when putting
the power down, and swerve off line under braking.  Same thing with Gregger
Huttus setups.  (no offense to those two excellent drivers)  They all seemed
to be biassed to turn more, and slide more easily, and that just doesn't
work for me.

I'll see how I get on with the 20% linearity before changing anything else.
Ok, time for a new PB at the ring :)

Hehe :)  That's *exactly* what I get.  I also get the same thing in league
races when I'm leading.

I've got a theory about this.  Occasionally when hotlapping at the ring,
when I'm a bit tried, my mind wanders and my concentration goes, and then
when I finally get my focus back, I realize i've done 50 or so perfect
corners on 'auto-pilot'.  Also the driving while I haven't been focussed is
really smooth, natural and fast.

So what I need is something to distract my concentration for a whole 8
minutes.  Any ideas?

Ok, which one(s) do you want?

8:18.80 - current best, but a bit ragged at times.
8:19.01 - just been beaten, but was run with old wheel settings.
8:23.11 - felt superb, neat, tidy and quick.  Why this time then?

Plus I've got some decently quick joystick laps in the 8:05 range.

The choice is yours.  :)

Hey Peter -
I'd like the 8:19 lap...  That's about 12 seconds faster than my PB.  Maybe I
can gain HALF that...

You still stuck in the 8:30s Eldred?  Me too.  I did a lovely lap there a
few days ago.  I was convinced it was going to be a new PB, it felt really
fast, but then I saw the pit board and it was 8:33, a second slower than my
best.  ***y frustrating  >:|

...but I think the key to going faster is to attack the course and use more
throttle, to drive round, and not to drift round.

Have you tried setting the steering to more linear, and turning off the
drivers arms, and turning off the low speed steering hack?  Also try racing
with headphones on.

Try listening to music while you drive.  Probably Van Halen, or something you
can turn up LOUD...<g>
