ISDN connections

My local cable company offers this service.

#1 - Is this a reliable means of accessing the internet?
#2 - Is anyone using NROS via an ISDN connection?
#3 - Is it as good as they advertise?

Any input from ISDN users would be greatly appreciated.

It's an Excellent way of accessing the internet. Screamingly fast.

Yes. You can race almost anywhere, anytime.

Yes. Costs more than a POTS connection, but it's worth it. It would be a
quantum jump from an AOL dial account.

No Problem. <G>

It is A LOT more reliable than a modem. I have never lost a connection.

The speed is 64 or 128Kbps. Since this is a digital line the speed is
not dependent of whether you get a good or bad connection. With modems
the speed you connect with varies as you know. Test of 56Kbps modems
have shown that the don't get much more than 43-44Kbps.

Go for it.

I agree. You always get a 64kbps or 128 kpbs connection, less
lost packets etc.

I'd say exactly the same. Previously I didn't like Quake
deathmatch because of the latency with my analog modem,
but with ISDN it is GREAT! It also felt so good being
able to download a 25 MB zipped packet in about half an hour
the other day.

(Yeah, cable modems and all, but most people still don't have
access to those.)
