Eric, have any insite into this one?

We tried our first race using the patch yesterday. The only bad thing a
few of us experienced was lockups when exiting
the track.  Two times during practice after pressing "Get out of car" my
PC hung.  Sometimes the sound would keep going but I always got a blank
screen.  After the race it hung when I tried to exit the track.

Athalon 1.333GHz, 256MB DDR Ram, SBLive 3.0 + 000505 patch, DirectX no
T&L, DX8a, V5 1.04.01 drivers running 800x600 at 2xFSAA.

I didn't make any changes to my N4 installation before/after the patch.
The original install didn't have this problem.

This was the only problem we had; otherwise, it was great with the new
patch! :)

Same lockup problems here after the patch, during a race against the
AI at Daytona: after 4 laps, black screen, sound continued but I had to
hard reset my pc..

If the screen locks up but the sound continues in either GPL or N4, hit
<del><ctrl><alt> (note the order - it's important to press and hold the
<del> key first!)  The program will exit if it's not completely brain dead.
Resources will not be released properly so you may still need to reboot, but
it's much more likely that you'll be able to perform an orderly system
shutdown instead of hard booting the machine.

Aargh!  These problems with the patch are bad memories of the problems
I had with N4 when my old motherboard wasn't AGP 2.0 compliant.  I
hope they don't reappear now!

My locking problem was just with exiting the track.  I'm happy to say,
since the first day, the problem has not returned.  I'll keep my fingers
crossed :)
