TITLE

VERSION

     3.20

AUTHOR

        WWW:   http://www.racesimcentral.net/~oliver/

     Address:  30 Tillett Road
               Norwich
               NR3 4BJ
               ENGLAND

DESCRIPTION

An editor for use with the Formula One Grand Prix or World Circuit
game (published by MicroProse Software).  It is very easy to use,
with a standard 2.0 look graphical user interface (even on KS 1.x!)
and on-line help should you need it.

Allows you to alter most of the in-game setup, including computer
car performance, car/helmet/pitcrew colours, car fragility and many
other things (and I MEAN many!).  Sound samples can also be replaced,
cockpit graphics changed, and lap records and setups printed.

Changes can be saved directly to a copy of the game which is running
in memory, or to the main file used by the game for a more permanent
     change.

Also incorporated in the main program are a number of memory patches,
including Toni Wilen's GPPatch and Grant Reeve's PatchF1GP.

F1GP-Ed breathes new life into an ageing, but excellent game.  1994,
1995 and 1996 sample datafiles supplied for those who don't want to
     mess about.

The program itself is auto-enhancing, which means that it will run
on a basic A500 with KS 1.2, but will make use of KS 2.x or KS 3.x
specific routines on suitable machines to make itself even better.

     Supported languages:

English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Swedish,
     Finnish, Norwaegian and Czech.

NEW FEATURES

Calculator window - allows calculation of teams' HP and driver
performance ratings by entering lap times.

It is now possible to have wet races at Phoenix (USA).

The tyre compound used by computer cars can now be altered.

The sound sample window has been enhanced to provide extra features.

The graphics window can now load IFF ILBM images (KS 2.0+).

New menu item to allow saving to a datafile, F1GP binary and memory
     all in one go.

Saving/loading to/from the F1GP binary is now handled in a different
way.  Instead of selecting the "f1gp" from a file requester every
time, you just need to set it once in the main window.

Altered the way lap records and dates are entered and displayed - a
lot nicer now.  However, these custom gadgets will only work properly
with KS 2.0+ - this was unavoidable due to missing/unimplemented
features in the KS 1.x version of gadtools.library :(

Spanish and norwegian now supported and the documentation is also
     supplied in german.

And of course some bug fixes.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Formula One Grand Prix or World Circuit game by Geoff Crammond,
     published commercially by MicroProse Software.

Approximately 1.5Mb of free ram needed to load the game and the
editor to be able to use the memory patches.  But, the editor
itself will work on machines with less memory.

F1GP-Ed 3.20 released

>HAS ANYONE try to use this Editor ?? Does it really work ??

Yes. If you like F1GP, you must get this editor. It adds so much more to the
game - ability to speed up computer cars, set wet race probabilities, alter
the frame rate if you have a faster Amiga, edit car colours, and much more.
In addition, it is also supported by the author with regular updates.

Paul. (speaking as a very happy registered user)

What sort of question is that?  Of course it bl**dy works!  But, as I can
see you appear to be a PC owner (assumption made from the fact you used
a Microsoft news reader) and haven't use an common sense (did you look at
the web site?).  F1GP-Ed is *only* available for Amigas - did you also not
notice you that I had crossposted this the message to an Amiga newsgroup and
you crossposted it back!

Some people...

(apologies for this post, but I'm pi**ed kinda mood tonight ;)

Hi Oliver!

Just wamma ask!  Have you seen an f1gp-ed for PeeCee's that makes
better graphics. I don't know it's name, but that editor makes f1gp
totaly different from it's original state.

Is it possible to make Amiga-version of f1gp-ed this way?
(Or maybe it does!?) I don't have a key-file for it...

Before you start preaching to others, best to follow your own ideals first.
What sort of example was your last post? 21 quoted lines, 3 line comment and
a 10 line sig.

Phrases like "Pot calling the Kettle black" and "Do as I say, not as I do"
spring to mind.

You're not planning to be a UK MP by any chance?

[10 line sig snipped]

Oh, and while we're on the subject, and since you are apparently such an
expert in Usenet posting technique, any chance you could trim your sig down
to around 4 lines. I'm not a stickler for rules and req's, but if you are
going to criticise somebody's work, make sure yours is the caine's reproductive
organ.
