: : Hello there,
: : I wish to inform everybody who uses my F1GP-Ed program and has not sent me
: : the shareware fee (only 2 fees received, so far), that they should really
: : send me the dosh. Otherwise F1GP-Ed V1.03 will be the final public release.
: I hope this is the last of this questionable program.
I don't.
: As for having to send the dosh yo really need to get a clue about what
: codeing shareware stuff means. As for the fact that this program is of
: no major use, unless you're a die hard F1GP fan I find it unbelievable
: that you charge for it.
So you're saying that people who program shareware shouldn't expect
to get the shareware fee, despite the fact that the whole idea of shareware
is that you get the program and if you like it you pay for it? Have you
written a shareware program yourself and *nobody* has sent you the money
despite the fact that you're sure that some people are using it, and is this
making you jealous because Oliver got 2 people who sent him the money?
I think you are the one in need of a clue about shareware: The rule with
Shareware programs is that if you use them you're supposed to pay the
author, not the author should be pleased that anyone lowers themselves
enough to condescend to paying him. Just because most people don't pay
the fee but still use the program doesn't mean that this is what you
should do.
As for the fact that Oliver charges for the program: have you seen it?
It's brought a whole new lease of life to F1GP in my case, now I have
to really push myself to beat the opposition, rather than just belting
round more than 2 seconds a lap faster than them. It was hardly a minor
job to write such a program, imagine having to search through somebody
elses binary to find out where the bits to change are. I use F1GP-Ed,
and I'm proud to say that I payed double the shareware fee because I
thought 5 quid wasn't enough.
: Check out Linux stuff. most of which is _far_ superior than Amiga FD
: stuff and is completely free and you nearly always get the full source.
What then would I do with Linux? Look at it with a text viewer? Sort it
into alphabetical order? What if you don't have a compiler? Does it
customise F1GP for me?
: Neil.
