ahem....it's a beta cronik...not fully public yet.
Sorry I'll take back that last post...the link from the news page is
active. But the TPTCC still is unfinished...only the vette and Mustang
body's and no real damage model yet. A Competition Coupe Viper is on the
way and improved damage modeling..
again..sorry for being a snit to you. At least I was correct in
identifying it as a beta release.

I am curious why, no matter what car I select. I dl'd the full offline set,
my car seems to be riding on the pavement, the body is. I dl'd the generic
setups and have been trying them out. All the AI cars seem to be high and
my car is sliding along the track with the wheels below the pavement.

"AI and player carfiles have different ride heights ?
This is a bug with the original game, and we can do nothing about that.
However, we have attempted to fix that in this version by providing a
series of cars that are for online and offline. If the carname is
"offline" or "off", it is for offline only. If the cars says "online" or
"on", it is for multiplayer. If your car seems very high or very low,
try selecting a different car body.
For a new car, here is what each body shape is for (note, this is only
for the current version).
car_make = 0 = Chevy = offline Corvette
car_make = 1 = Dodge = online Corvette
car_make = 2 = Ford = offline Mustang
car_make = 3 = Pontiac = online Mustang
The AI cars should ALWAYS be "online" cars. The driver's car is the only
one that changes, and a driver should select an offline car for offline
testing, and an online car for multiplayer. Note that car wheels and
spoilers may still appear to sink into pavement at times. Also note that
a driver's car will appear to be "slammed" while he's in an online race,
but the server replay will be fine, and what the other drivers see will
be fine"
Hope this helps

I said: "I dl'd the full offline set,"
I read the readme, I tried various different cars, I am driving offline. I
even watched the replay, picked a car that was riding above the pavement and
selected that to drive. I am using the generic car setup files and I went
in and stiffened the springs, added air pressure and raised the ride height.
I don't think it is the setup though that did seem to get me off the
pavement but still way lower than the other cars.
I did not dl the offline/online set of stangs and vettes, I did dl the
bulllrun set listed above that. Is that the issue? Would any car from the
bullrun set ride low like that unless the AI is driving? Guess I will go dl
the off/on set and see what I get..........

Grrr, here's what I get for not playing around much with this thing as I
can't remember them off the top of my head, I've had a few of the
Captain's brew tonight as well, and I don't have access to my racing
rig, but you are in the wrong car, I just can't remember which is which
right now.....
The BR1000 car set was made for online racing, namely the BR1000, so my
guess, in my ever so slightly intoxicated condition so take it for what
it's worth, is that you're racing an "online" car offline, export the
paintjob you want to drive, create a new player using the Chevy or Ford
(offline cars) and import the paintjob

Is there a reason why the ride height issue happens to some people and
not others?
I have all the cars (offline and online) from both zip files enabled
as part of a carset, and when I do races with full fields I don't see
any ride height problems.
