I have the same thing happening. Not sure if it's just looking to see
what type of TPC network you have or what - since it can't get past my
firewall anyway, I don't really care. But I'll have a look at some packet
traces sometime and see what it's doing..

Yes that would certainly be a reasonable explanation.
Maybe it is doing so much of that checking that the multiplay
