operating system? I have win98 and win2000 so that's why I'm
wondering. Did they perform slower?

Performance is about the same if you have enough RAM and if your video card
drivers perform the same. ATi drivers for the Radeon were slower in W2K
until recently (say 6 mos ago).
W2K has slightly higher base memory requirements so if you run games on a
system without enough RAM you'll see better performance in W98. In my
experience a W98 machine with 128MB performs about the same as a W2K system
with 256MB.
GPL - OK
SCGT - A little trouble but OK now.
F1RC - OK
NFS:PU - need fixed swapfile size at less than about 300MB on most systems
GP3 - OK
F12K - OK
HTH,
Dale.
I do 'feel' that once you've got it running on Win 2000 it's good for the
long haul.
I don't really agree with the RAM thing (seems close to the same). But I
think the swap file is a must in Win 2000. (I setup a swap file only
partition = 1Gb)
And I guess I shouldn't say Sims. I should probably say "GPL".
Some other games my son (4yrs) plays are.
Motocross Madness 2.
Midtown Madness 2.
I also have which works great. But is boring.
MS Flight Sim 2000.
Overall for me Win 2000 is preferred. 98 always seem to need that reboot at
the most inconvenient of times.
