F1RS - Dell Dimnesion - Matrox Millennium II video card

by John Ho » Sat, 21 Feb 1998 04:00:00

Hi

I have a Dell Dimension XPS D300 PC with a Matrox Millennium II video
card.   I get frequent system hangs when running F1RS - it is not
unusual for it to lock up perhaps 3 times in 15/20 minutes.   Other
times it is ok for longer.

It has been suggested to me that the problem is likely to be with the
video card and I wonder whether anyone else has had a similar problem
with this setup and could make any recommendations for a cure.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

John

says...

You might want to check and verify that you have at least 50MB of free
space on the same HDD with the game. Also, try the latest drivers from
Matrox and try turning down video acceleration (START/SETTINGS/CONTROL
PANEL/SYSTEM/PERFORMANCE/VIDEO).

I've played it on a 133 with a millenium 2 for ages.
Apart from the machine killing smoke, etc, it never
hung at all.

So, you now know that it *can* work with a mill 2.
