Matrox Millennium 2MB vs 4MB in GP2

by Rod11101 » Mon, 10 Mar 1997 04:00:00

My system consists of a Cyrix 166+ with 32 MB RAM. I use a Matrox
Millennium  with 2MB "W"RAM for video. In SVGA, with MOST graphics on, I'm
STILL hitting between 100-200 processor occupancy on two-thirds of the
sections on most tracks. (We won't even get into the P.O. at Monaco!!!)

Would increasing my video card memory from 2MB to 4MB help any?  If so,
does anyone know where I can get the RAM expansion module for the card?

I don't know what else to do other than upgrading to a P200MMX, or forking
out some major dough for the NASA super computer that this game was
designed on!!!   >:(

Email and/or post
Thanks
Rod

Getting 4MB won't give you any improvement. Even a p200 MMX won't do that
spectacularly because GP2 doesn't support the new instructions.

Tone down the detail or wait for the 400 MHz PPro....
