The 1.05 patch does not fix the tunnel 'problem'. In real life, the drivers
say that when you enter that tunnel from sunshine, it literally is like
being in complete darkness for a second or two. That's what it's like in
F1RS, you get total darkness for that time only, and then you can see a
little bit more, just enough to get you through.

I think it's totally realistic...Glad to hear it hasn't been "fixed."  =)

Cheers!

Dare I say that it looks to me as if the DARKNESS in the tunnel has been
enhanced? I thought it wasn't this dark before patch 1.05. There's a moment
the screen is completely black when you enter the tunnel. I thought it
wasn't like this before the patch.

Not saying it's bad, I LIKE IT!!!!

"On 5 August 1944 in the vicinity of St. Sever Calvados, France, witnessed a
German Mark V Panther tank knock out three M4 and three M5 tanks during and
after being hit by at least fif*** rounds of 75mm APC from a distance of
approximately 700 yards. All of these shells had ricochetted, with the
exception of a six***th round which finally put the Mark V Panther out of
action." Sgt. Thomas P. Welborn, Germany's Panther tank, the quest for

I have the same problem. Pure black when driving in the tunnel.
It's certainly a BUG because I've tried it on another PC (both with 3Dfx),
and it got just dark as it should be, not black!
I hope anyone can help out?

As a follow up to this there have been lights installed in the Monaco
tunnel to avoid this  temporary blindness problem........
The lights were installed for the 1997 season so F1RS is 1996 sim and is
still correct to have temporary darkness.........

It is definitely strange yet probably close to realistic:  If a wet race
is run then the light inside the tunnel is considerably greater, because
in real life the eyes would not have as much adjustment to do.....the
difference in light levels between inside and outside the tunnel being a
lot smaller than if it was a bright sunny day.

Well done, Ubi!!
