Help:Screamin' 3D problem

by Mumb » Tue, 25 Feb 1997 04:00:00

After numerous hours of hastle installing a Sierra/Rendition
Screamin' 3D card I discovered two things:

1. The difference it makes with ICR2 is astounding
2. The board crashes after ~10-120 seconds.

Given 1. can anybody suggest a way to prevent 2.?

My machine is a GW2K P5-60 OC'ed to 66 then OD'ed to
133 with 24 MB. The problem is only apparent in DOS
not under WIN95.

I know there were problems with Cyrix chips and I wonder
if there are similar problems with OverDrive chips.

Any info. would be appreciated.

TIA

Robh.

Your machine may not support DMA.  Are you running the Indyfast or
Indysafe batch file?  I used to have the same problem on an older
p5-75 that wouldn't work quite right.
