OT: Hardware problems

I'm hoping maybe someone out there can guide me in the right direction to solve this- I'm really at my wit's end.
For about the last 3 months, I've had a strange, reoccuring problem with my PC- When I booted it up the first time, no problem, ran great. Over time I noticed an inordinate amount of page faults, GPFs, and just plain old lockups. These occurred only in Win95, never when running an old DOS app, and progressively got more common, until it happened virtually everytime I turned the PC on.
I finally got fed up, and reinstalled Win95 OSR2 over the top of my old install- bang, no problems. Smooth as a baby's butt. For about 2 1/2 weeks- the problems started creeping back, until I repeated the 'fix' I mentioned above. I went thru this 3 more times, until 3 weeks ago or so, when I formatted my drives, reinstalled everything from scratch, and prayed. No problems until two days ago- and it's starting again. I've tried every driver under the sun, checked my DIMMs, made sure the CPU was cool and well seated in the socket, and disabled things I thought may cause problems- no luck.

Anyone have any idea what's going on? System specs are below. Thanks tons for any and all help.

VIA MVP3 100 mhz Super 7 MB
AMD K6-2 300 CPU
64 MB 66 mhz SDRAM(the clock speed is set asychronous- that isn't the problem)
Diamond Stealth II(using the Rendition reference drivers- seem to work the best)
2 1.6 GB WD Caviar hard disks
Sony CDU-511 16x CD-ROM
Motorola ModemSurfr 56K internal w/v.90 upgrade
DirectX 6.0 (all drivers certified)
...and an old 8-bit SB Pro soundcard.

I've gone through every troubleshooting step I can think of. HELP!!

You might check for the win32/hep virus. Make sure you virus .dat file
is newer
then july 98 or it wont find this win .exe attaching virus. It can cause
some of the
symtoms that you mention.
