F12K - controller - setup

I have a logitech FF whell and The thing that is getting me right now is the
total inablity to stay on the track.

I no nothing about car setups, so I resort to the controller setup for
squirlly issues.

My question is can someone please tell me what sensitivieties thay are using
for the various steering realted options (i.e. speed sensitivity, controller
sensitivity etc..)

within the game, and also what other mods have you made to your controlers
OUTSIDE the game.

I want to learn to setup a car, but I fear I will surely to the wrong thing
if my controller isnt at hte least set up the right way!

thanks

For my TSW wheel:

* Outside the sim:

   1) I calibrate in windows control panel.

   2) I use CTFJ - A free util found at:
       http://home.att.net/~stickworks/ctfjv320.zip
       I run CTFJ prior to running the sim.
       In CTFJ, I set 0 deadzone and I increase the X-Axis sensitivity 2 or 3 clicks.

* Inside the sim:

     In the controller prefs, I set:
     game controller sensitivity = 40
     speed sensitivity = 20
     deadzone = 0
 I sometimes lower X-Axis sensitivity to 25 or so, depending on my mood.. :)

Note: These are my settings, and they may or may not be to your liking.

I would say that CTFJ is a -necessity-, since the deadzone adjustment
in F1-2000, and lots of other sims/games, still leaves a sloppy deadzone
at the center of wheel travel, and can cause you to not be able to control
the sim without erratic jerkiness.

Give it a try!

I sometimes lower game controller (in-game) sensitivity to 25 or so,
depending on my mood..

I've also got a LWFF, & had to monkey around a little bit to get it to
handle right.  At first, I was having flashbacks to the CPR controller
problems.  Here's how I got mine set, they may or may not be to your
liking but they are a starting point.

Sensitivity=0
DeadZone=0
Speed Sensitivity=25

I've also used DXTweak to set my outside deadzone at 0.

Good luck!

Hey Ed,there's one thing that will make a huge difference in your steering
ability,you need to change the default setup steering lock down from 25 to 16 or
so.This will take away that quick twitch steering.Change that one thing in your
setup,I'm sure you will notice a difference.
