Any of you guys using Game Commander 2 with Nascar4.  A friend of mine told
me about it, but I haven't seen it or tried it, can any of you comment on
how good or bad this is, etc....

thanks

i use it in n4 and generally like it. it always recognizes my commands so
that's not an issue (no noticable degradation in framerates either). the
only thing i don't like is that i like to crank up the volume in the game
and some times when my spotter says something, my view (or whatever) would
suddenly switch (this always happens to me coming out of the pits). minor,
but annoying. i recomend it.

Hi,
Ditto Todd's comments.  I got it with the headset and it really is
pretty cool not having to use the keyboard!  I would definately get it for
online racing.  I have a similar problem as Todds in N3 where my motor sound
will cause the last autochat message to appear ("Slowing for caution")
Yeah, right!  My only question is how do some online racers post chats that
are so specific?  They can't be typing all those letters and race too!  Any
advice?

Maybe they employ an attractive secretary to type the messages when
necessary :)

Using either version of Game Commander, you can pre-program any NUMBER of
'canned' messages.  So in addition to the 10 autochat messages that are
available via
N3 and N4, you can also include tons of extra messages...  So if you GOT
REALLY
CREATIVE you could have commands that would type out every car # and link
that to a series of 2nd messages that would work like this..
<say> Twenty-Six <pause> <say>blocking<pause> <say> high<pause> <say> Jerk
<say> Enter.
the game will type...if you configured all the messages to match this...then
all the
other drivers would see the following.
Hey #26!  Quit Blocking.  I'm passing you high, stay low. You Jerk.
dave henrie
of course that would take a-LOT of pre-programed messages and that could
possibly
bog down your system's performance.
