Damn straight! NASCAR would can any track over 1 mile if I was in charge :).
I think the reason short tracks are so popular is that is what most people
can relate to. Nothing like a good old Saturday night short track race on
dirt or pavement. I can hear Gratton Raceway (road course) from where I
live and have never been there, but I drive to another state for a short
track race. Hell I'd go to NY for super DIRT week if I could talk the women
it letting me go. *sigh*

What would you know you like road courses for Christ sake! <VBG> Short
tracks are all about bumper to bumper door handle to door handle racing.
None of this follow the leader parade lap stuff. If it wasn't for short
tracks there would be no NASCAR, and South Boston has played a big part in
its growth.
Nashville is another example of how NASCAR is going down hill. They drop one
of the greatest short tracks for another blah and boring speedway. Oh well
at least its not 1.5 miles long.

Thats the problem "most" people online don't know how to race a short track.
They have been brought up on the 1.5 milers and super speedways. They don't
have the patance to run 15-20 laps behind a car to wait for them to slip up
to make the pace. Its gun it and go.
