Is there any performance difference between the Win95 and DOS versions
of the game? That is, given the same hardware, will the Win95 version
run faster under Win95 than the DOS version under DOS?
Aside from the niftier interface that the Win95 version will no doubt
offer, are there any other features that not be available for the DOS
version but will with the Win95 version?
Lastly, has the driver AI improved much over NASCAR?

The performance of the native version (Win95 on Win95 and DOS on DOS) seem
to be about the same. It depends (surprise) on your video card. If your
card is supported by UniVBE but not DirectDraw, DOS should be dramatically
faster. If your card is supported by DirectDraw but not UniVBE, Win95
should be dramatically faster. A rough examination indicates that the DOS
version running in a Win95 DOS box (not in exclusive DOS mode) runs about
25% slower than in exclusive DOS mode. Win95 likes to do something with
those cycles. Your mileage may vary.
Currently there are no major features planned for the Win95 version that
are not in the DOS version, although you'll have more flexibility with
Win95 (e.g., since we use the standard Open/Save file dialogs, replays,
settings, etc. can be saved anywhere, not just in the track directory).
The AI has been optimized for a) IndyCar rules and b) road course driving.
The IndyCar AI on a road course is, in my opinion, at least as good as
NASCAR's AI on a road course, and probably better.
