Problems with ICR2 (Rendition) and Thriller3D.

I just got the Hercules Thriller 3D (V2200) card and put it into my PC (for
GPL). GPL is perfect, but ICR2 (rendition) isn't. I've read all the posts on
Alison Hine's web page and followed all the instructions and had some success
but here are my problems:
- Without pathing ICR2, the***pit and mirrors are messed up in driving view.
Though, it does runs at 30fps and both indyfast and indysafe files run.
-If I use the official patch and fix-on-Alison-Hine's-page,***it and mirrors
are fine when I run indyfast, but my framerate isn't. I get only about 17-25
fps in trafic and only about 25-27 fps solo. Also, the graphics get corrupted
in the distance.

I run it on a PII 300, 64Mb RAM with a reboot to DOS.

I would like it to run as it used to, ie. 30fps with***pit and mirrors. Is
this the best that I can get? Are you getting the same problems and the same
framerate as me? Does anyone know a way to fix this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, 'cos I'm very fond of ICR2 (put a lot
of time and effort into it :-) and would like to keep it.

Thanks and best regards,
David Mocnay

David,
I run ICR2/CART on a Diamond Stealth II with excellent frame rates using
the patch instructions found at www.bjorn3d.com.  It involves using
"monkey" and "monkey1" batch files.  If you don't know what the heck I'm
talking about, you have reason to hope and go to Bjorn's site and find
the instructions and files for fixing the problem.

Good luck,

30 fps is the max unless you hit the doubler key(alt t) or something like
that.
I haven't looked at Allison's files, but I'm assuming it is the basic .bat
file fix that has
been around for awhile.  I have had the patched file running at full speed
with all detail,
some slight slowdown at the start of a race but from then on 30fps.    The
mirrors are
tougher, either turn on or turn off Anti Aliasing(alt-A)...kindof a poor
choice....get great closeups with
hazy distance or fix the distance and loose that great AA look.    but you
shouldn't be running
down in the ***s with a PII-300 and a HERC.  I wonder if something is
messing up...

Give the boy a banana.  The file you want is v2dosfix.exe.  If you
can't find it I will email it to you.

I had the same when replacing my Stealth II with the Thriller and found out
that starting in pure DOS cures it. Boot your system, hit F8 to go to the
boot menu and chose option 5 to start in pure DOS. The restart to DOS from
the Windows surface keeps the Win drivers loaded which prevent the Thriller
from working correctly with ICR2-Rendition.

Also, inside ICR2 hit Alt-A to disable antialiasing.

Hope this helps!
