Hello, I just bought a GP1 from thrustmaster and was wondering if
anyone could help me, I cant calibrate the wheel in win95. Well I can
but it is so jerky that it is unplayable...the X is never centered and
the right paddle is producing a longer range than the left one...
is there anything special i should do? I followed the instructions
included with the gp1...I want to play monster truck  madness with
it...(And also sega rally)

thanks for any info!!

BTW this wheel is gggggreat!!!!!!!!

I've posted this question both here and in alt.windows95, and thus far
without reply.

However, I think I've found the answer.

Re-calibrate.  Then re-calibrate.  Er, then again, if necessary.

Sounds daft, I know, but I had this problem too, *especially* with
Sega Rally (demo).  No trouble with F1GP2/Whiplash, but lotsa drift
from "centre" with SR.

So I posted a bit, heard nothing, and figured I'd try again.  And
again.

S'dull, I know, but it works.  I found that in control panel the Y
axis produced practically no movement, and the X axis was not centred
either before or after calibration.

But it does work.  Honest.  Persevere.  Then play a lot before you
reboot (why reboot:)) or you'll have to do it again.

If anyone else has a better explaination, I'd love to hear it.  Is a
dedicated game card (eg ACM) the answer?

Paul.

PS I agree - a great wheel:)

This should't be necessary.

Yes. I have had the same Thrustmaster card in a P90, an o'clocked
P100, and now a P166. All with different Motherboards. Each time the
card had to be calibrated to the speed of the system, but after that ,
no problems. My Sega Rally with the GP1 is dead on straight.

I also have to agree. The GP1 is great. Much better feel than the T-1
I had. I also enjoy not having to find a place for the pedals when I'm
not driving. (when's that?)
