Hi everyone

I`m using a Thrustmaster GP1 with CH PRO pedals for racing N2 and GP2,
and it works like a dream, in DOS. Thought I`d give Kali a try with N2,
but I can`t get this combo to work in Win95, keeps telling me that my
joystick is not properly connected, DUH, I have no problems whatever in
DOS, running them on a standard gameport on my non pnp AWE32.

Any suggestions ???

Beers and cheers
Goy

Get the Pro panel Directly from Thrustmaster. That should do the
trick!

I am not too sure how you would go about implementing this in your case,
but I did have s similar problem with my homebuilt wheel and my CH Pro
Pedals.  My setup uses the X axis of Joystick 1 for the steering,
and both the X and Y axis' of Joystick 2 for the pedals.  Using this
setup I was unable to get Win95 to recognize the existence of my
wheel.  I wound up using a 50K ohm resister to provide the Y axis
input of Joystick 1, and Win95 was suddenly much happier.  Apparently
the brain-damaged Win95 detection/calibration routine assumes that no
one would ever want to hook up an input device with no Y axis on the
first Joystick.  :-(

What is the error message?  Did you successfully disable the gameport on
your soundcard?  Will Pro-panel or the regular Joystick recognize a
standard joystick?

Did you go to Thrustmaster's web site and get the ProPanel applet?
(http://www.thrustmaster.com).  Did you try setting it up with the
ProPanel as a steering unit with separate pedals?  If I remember
correctly the CH PRO pedals are on different axis while the
Thrustmaster's a currently all on the same axis of the second joystick.

Also depending on the date of the manufacturer of your GP1, you may need
to install the adaptor between the wheel port and the pedals port.

        GP1 > Axis Adapter(Converter) > CH Pro Pedals > Game Port

Please reference the date code on the bottom of the steering console.

If the number for the date code is less than 961214, (in other words, if
the GP1 was manufactured before December 14, 1996) use the setup
information that exists in your GP1 manual and FYI sheet.

If the number for the date code is 961214 or later, (in other words, if
the GP1 was manufactured after December 14, 1996) the converter is no
longer needed, and is NOT supplied in the box. The GP1 now connects
directly to your computer's gameport as shown in the installation
diagram in the manual.

**Note: the date code consists of six numbers. The first two numbers are
the year of manufacture (961214). The second two numbers are the month
of manufacture (961214) in this case the 12 month or December. The last
two numbers are the day of manufacture(961114) in this case the 14 day.
The proper translation of 961214 is December 14, 1996.

You should check Eric Cote's web site for details about setting up any
of the Thrustmaster wheels with a game card and Windows 95. Eric's URL
is: infoweb.magi.com/~ericcote/gp2menu.html

Nice try, but...this sounds like information from someone who runs the GP1/CH
combo with ICR2 or N2.  It will not work with GP2 in Windows95.

You well may be right, since I don't run any of my DOS based sims in
Win95.  They all run in DOS.  But, if the program is DOS based it should
work in Win95 "without" the adaptor.  I guess I will have to give it a
try.  I do quick trials in a DOS box in Win95 with both ICR2 and N2 and
don't use the adaptor.    I will check out GP2 in Win95 without the
adaptor.  However, for Win95 native games/sims the adaptor is required
for older T1/T2 and GP1 wheels.
