F1RS a few questions re: steering and settings

Hey all,

as a budding F1 driver (minues the double digit million dollar budgets and
groupies) I ahve been playing and thouroughly enjoying F1RS for about a week
now.

i have a few questions though for you *** crowd.  The first is what
steering sensitivity should I dila in as a rule (just a good starting place
as I know this can vary from wheel to wheel)

and I noticed when doing timed attacks that I flip back to auto gearbox ( I
use the realistic setting and have been doing my own shifting)  I can
usually stay close to the track specs in the book by shifting on my own ,
however with auto i am always a little low in the powerband... BUT i turn
better times after a lap or two adjustment.

Say I want a 'realisitc' experiance (i.e. just like the boys on the circut
have to do so do I) Do the real cars have auto gearboxes and anti-lock
brakes?  if so I would surely love to race taht way onoccasion and not feel
guilty!

I have been having a blast with this SIM!  great game! loads of character
and fun, terrific lloking, and great sense of it all.  I go tthe US version
, but after reading the posts here I see I would have been better off with
the UK version as it has a better manul (my local EB had both stocked, the
US box looked nicer).

well I am off to contiue my mastery of SILLVERSTONE!

I don't consider myself ***, but I'll state my opinion anyways.
The steering sensitivity is really dependent upon the wheel and
personal preference.  I have tried various settings and have arrived
at about 60% for my preference.  Alot of the adjustment can be made by
the driver to the car as well.

AFAIK, all current cars have manual sequential shifting and no ALB or
traction control.  Someone corrent me if I'm wrong but I recall that
up to the 1994 season, ALB and traction control was allowed as well as
more programmable shifting (eg. from 6th to 2nd in one step)..

Imported versions often have lesser quality manuals unfortunately.  As
long as the information is about the same, a few coloured pictures is
not a big deal though.

lots of racing enjoyment here also,
