rec.autos.simulators

I go into the options and set it to "Manual Transmission", then ckick OK and
start the race........but after quitting the game and starting it again, it
defaults back to the Automatic Transmission.  How can I get it to save it?
I tryed using the save button down in the bottom right corner, and enter a
filename for the settings.  But do I have to LOAD that file EVERY time I
start the game for it to be manual transmission?  Also, I have a slight
problem with slow-down in the first corner because of all the cars being
drawn, and I think I remember seeing a fix for this somewhere....something
about going to the sound.cpa file and changing a couple of numbers or
something?  Anyone know about that?  Thanks for any help!

Yes, it appears like this is how Ubisoft thought it should work!  One
of the many examples of developers living in caves I suppose.

They are in SND_CPA.INI:
SXD_DIST_SATUR=1
SXD_DIST_FADE=15

Or you can use a nice utility program to change these as well as
driver names and car power curves.  Its F1RSRAYS and is availible on
the f1racingsim site as well as others.
